The Hotel

The Seiterhof*** is an estate in the holiday region of Schladming-Dachstein in a tranquil, sunny location with a wonderful panoramic view at the heights of the Dachstein and the Tauern mountains.  Around the hotel there are 20 hectares of pasturage and meadows. Thus, horses, rider and guests can benefit from the open space available.  Right next to the equestrian centre, there is a riding area 20x40m and a riding trail.  About 7-8 riding hours (7-8 hours on foot) away from the Seiterhof, at a height of 2000m, lies the Giglach pasture with around 700 hectares of pasturages, the Giglach lake with 17 hectares of water and our alpine chalet.  During the weekly hikes to the Giglach Lake, we visit our horses which are on summer vacation.

In our cosy single, double and family rooms, you will definitely feel at home. Half board basis is included during your stay – there are many attractive family packages at budget prices!
 

Cuisine

Your day begins with a breakfast buffet that consists of products from our own farm, and ends with a delicious 3-course selection menu and crisp salad buffet in the evening. At the height of summer, we also organise a weekly barbeque evening on the terrace.  
 

Free time

A large children’s playground (with a playhouse, sandpit, carousel, petting zoo, go-karts, tepee and much more), tractor rides, campfires, guided hikes and more than 100 FREE recreational offers with the included summer card, ensure that there is always something interesting going on.  Free entrance to the outdoor/indoor pool Schladming (3km away), daily supervised children’s programme with introductory climbing, archery, children’s carpentry, Wild Wild West, children’s party, family adventure hikes and 1 ride on the Dachstein Glacier among other activities. For all golf enthusiasts, there is also a golf course located just 12 minutes away.
 

Rider and beginners are supervised individually at Seiterhof

Children with very good riding skills (possibly riding certificate and riding experience)

• 2x weekly guided horseback riding in the country for about 1½ hours
• 5 times a week from 16:00 to 17:00 free riding without supervision at the riding arena

Children with no riding experience or intermediate level

• 5 times a week from 17:00 to 18:00 free pony rides at the riding school with the help of parents
• 1x weekly pony walking in the country with the help of parents

The riding programme at the hotel Seiterhof includes:

• 20 – 25 high quality Iceland horses
• Riding arena 20 x 40m
• Riding trail starting at the court
• Supervision at the riding arena from 16:00 to 18:00
• 2x a week guided horseback rides
• 5x a week from 16:00 to 17:00 free riding at the riding arena
• Saturday is resting day for the horses!

We have1-2 riding instructors at the centre, so that a division into 2 groups would be possible in order to supervise advanced riders and beginners separately. Our riding instructor Irene, who has been with us for 10 years, always delights the guest children!
